Kansas Nonprofit Security Grant (NSGP) Education Calls
KHP hosted two educational sessions looking forward to the FY24 Nonprofit security grant. While the base presentations were identical, the attendee questions and discussion were different.

Safe and Supportive Schools Conference
The Safe and Supportive Schools Conference will be held on April 15-16 in Manhattan KS, at the Hilton Garden Inn. Presenters from across Kansas will empower, inspire, and motivate your staff, while providing information and new ideas to take back to your schools.
Cost for registration is $75 (meals not included). Participants will have an extended lunch break to allow time to go out to eat.
Breakout sessions will focus on six strands:- Communications
- Cybersecurity and Technology
- Mental Health
- Social Emotional/Trauma Informed Care
- Student Data Collection and Data Privacy
- Overall Safety

FEMA 2024 Procurement Under Grants Trainings
For current NSGP subrecipients, FEMA's Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) is offering a series of one-hour trainings covering a variety of procurement under grant concepts, frequent compliance issues, and highlight a variety of user-friendly resources. FY23 Subrecipient 9/15/23 Q&A Call
KHP hosted a Teams meeting to help answer any initial questions that project managers may have. This training contained similar information to previous years, but included updated resources, which all project managers are encouraged to review.

FEMA 2024 Procurement Under Grants Trainings
FEMA's Grant Programs Directorate (GPD) is offering a series of one-hour trainings on the federal procurement rules applicable to recipients and subrecipients purchasing under a FEMA grant award. The various training descriptions are below:
- Standard Procurement Under Grants (PUG) Training - Provides an overview of the federal procurement under grants rules for recipients and subrecipients when purchasing under a FEMA grant.
- Exigency or Emergency (E&E) Training - Educates recipients and subrecipients on the federal procurement under grants rules applicable when purchasing during exigency or emergency circumstances.
- Prepare Before a Disaster - Focuses on contracting actions recipients and subrecipients can take to prepare before a disaster strikes and addressing the procurement rules applicable during these times.
- Procurement Under Grant (PUG) Training - Mitigation Grants - Provides an overview of the federal procurement under grant rules for recipients and subrecipients when purchasing under a FEMA mitigation grant.

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released a new resource titled Protecting Places of Worship: Six Steps to Enhance Security Against Targeted Violence Fact Sheet. This resource outlines actions that faith-based organizations and community leaders can take to increase security, focusing on six overarching steps. The product details how taking these six steps can help protect places of worship places of worship against potential threats of targeted violence in a cost-effective manner that maintains an open and welcoming environment. The product also provides training, exercise, and grant resources, and interagency contact points to assist places of worship with protecting their places of worship, obtaining funds for security improvements, and recognizing/reporting potential threats in their areas.
