The Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition is proud to announce that the coalition and its federal Healthy Start Program partners
(the Maternal and Child Health Coalition of Greater Kansas City, Inc./Kansas City Healthy Start (MCHC/KCHS) and the Northeast
Wichita Healthy Start Initiative (NEWHSI)/Sedgwick County Health Department) have received the Business Case for Breastfeeding
Train-the-Trainer grant for 2009.
The $10,000 grant provides implementation funds to be used to conduct outreach with businesses
and training events. Every Mother, Inc and HCD International will provide trainers for the initial Train-the-Trainer event and
technical assistance.
The Business Case for Breastfeeding resources from HRSA will be utilized to approach businesses across the state to encourage the
implementation of lactation support programs. Other states selected to receive this grant for 2009 are Alaska, Arizona, Iowa,
Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, and West Virginia.
